Hi I’m Wayne I started martial arts when I was thirteen years old I had heard that a new Karate club was beginning in my area and at the time I was having trouble with the school bullies, so thought why not give it a go. After six month or so when my confidence had grown due to the training I had I found out that once you stand up for yourself bullies tend to leave you alone and find a weak target! After a couple of years I moved onto kickboxing until I was twenty four or so. I then fell out of the martial arts for a few years until I moved to London from Kent, I wondered from club to club trying to find somewhere I felt I’d fit in and could start to train and maybe get a few tournaments in before I got to old!!

While moving from club to club I suffered an accident at work which put me in a wheelchair for six months. Once I was up and about again and looking on the internet I found Shentie Martial Arts Academy and have never looked back. I started to train hard and put a lot of time and effort into my training and had many private lessons with Master Lee and Daniel. I now feel that all the hard work has started to pay off as I discovered that I have a talent for teaching. I now take a junior class and help out with a mixed class and Shentie has become a big part of my life.

I have two children who also train with Shentie and they both enjoy it very much.
