80 young students enjoyed trampolines, a bouncy castle and other facilities at the Kids Christmas party. Great fun was had by all but hoping the sugar levels were not too high after all the cakes and food!
Thanks to all those that helped to make it a success.

May we also take this opportunity to thank all our members for their continued support during 2011 and wish you all a very happy Christmas and New Year

10TH DUAN GRANDMASTER OF HUNG LENG KUEN KUNG FU
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Sijo J R Dutton 10th Duan Grandmaster of Hung Leng Kuen Kung Fu on Sunday 26th June. He fought cancer bravely for 4 years and only a few weeks ago taught the adult Shentie class on a Sunday.
Our thoughts are with his friends and family and with Chris Parker as he now becomes the Chief Instructor of Hung Leng Kuen Kung Fu
While emergency building works are being carried out at our Heston venue the Saturday morning 10:30am kindergarten class (ages 4-6) will now merge in with the 11:30am kids class. The Instructors from the 10:30am class will also be attending the 11:30 class. We do have other early morning classes at Brentford and Maida Vale if this would suit in with your time schedule better.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated to when the 10:30 class will revert back to its normal time slot.
It is now confirmed the showing of Kung Fu Panda 2 will be on Saturday 9th July at 16:00 at Cineworld, Feltham.
We will be meeting at 15:10 outside the cinema (under the canopy at the front entrance). Please do not be late and if possible wear your Shentie T-shirt. You do not have to be a member to attend and can bring family or a friend.
Thank you and well done to all those students that took part in the demonstration at the school.
On a visit to Southampton University Hung Leng Kuen Kung Fu Club, James Parker was awarded first grade(yellow sash), by Grand Master J R Dutton(10th Duan). Grandmaster Dutton was impressed by James' abiltity and attitude and praised his Shentie teachers.
At this grading Chris Parker was awarded 9th Duan in Hung Leng Kuen Kung Fu. Grandmaster Dutton has been teaching Chris for 21 years and often visits the Sunday morning adult Shentie class
Due to a problem with the overseas supplier of our merit badges we have now used all our current stock this means that we will not be in a position to issue Badges until August however we will continue to assess students which may result in some students receiving more than one badge.
On a number of occasions cheques have been returned as ‘non-payable’. To avoid any more uncomfortable situations as from the 31st January Shentie will no longer be able to accept cheques
On the two previous occasions when we visited the cinema to see Karate Kid and Kung Fu Panda with over a 100 students attending we were treated to VIP access, VIP allocated seats and a discount All agreed it was very successful trip
We are now arranging a cinema date to go to see Kung Fu Panda 2 which will be showing in June. Please watch this space……!!
ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR TRANING WORKSHOP - Saturday January 15th
To be held at Heston from 13:00 to 16:00 for over 18’s. If you would like to attend please inform your instructor. There is no cost with this workshop.
After his recent training in Thailand Master Lee and Senior Instructor Daniel Lupton have just returned back from 4 days firearms training with the Czech Republic Firearms Unit which included
Understanding Dangers of Firearms
Self-defence when confronted by an assailant with a firearm
Diploma in the Use of Firearms
After all this the instructors still found time to train at the EU Mixed Martial Arts Club in Prague when others would have been out enjoying the historical sights
As part of the UK Foundation Project, Master Lee spent a week with 150 disadvantaged young people including some that also had behavioural problems. The aim was to help them build confidence and develop new skills that would help them to create a good future for themselves.
The Outward Bound centre was so impressed with our Master that they have asked him to be a motivational speaker in the Midlands and the North of England
Shentie was awarded by the City of Westminster the 'Active Westminster Mark' for their commitment to providing a quality sports and leisure service. Please click here
Master lee has just returned from training in Thailand were he visited a number of the MMA and Muay Thai camps and was very pleased with the welcome received from the Fairtex camp, however did have some concerns as they kept trying to set him up with fights in Cambodia! To quote Lee “I did have a dog once but I am not a mad English man” He was also asked to join a photo shoot at the Sanctuary of Truth. These pictures are now part of the advertising campaign for the Sanctuary in Thailand. We have asked for copies of the photos, however in the meantime here is a picture of Lee with some of Thailand’s top fighters.
Lee is already planning his next training trip oversees and is looking at China or Malaysia, if interested please contact Lee directly. Any student wishing to train oversees must hold a brown belt or higher and be 18 years of age.
On Sunday 1st August we are meeting at 14:20 at Cineworld in Feltham to see the showing of The Karate Kid. Those of you wearing your Shentie T-shirts will have a £1 taken of the cost of the ticket. Depending on how many of us there are in the group we may get a group discount but we will not know this until the day. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
7th to 26th AUGUST 2010
As you are aware Master Lee is constantly re-visiting the many styles of Martial Arts and has been invited to visit in August one of the premier Martial Arts clubs in Thailand where Lee believes that this will be the perfect opportunity to ‘blow away the cobwebs’
If you would like to join Master Lee in Thailand then please let your Instructor know or contact the Club Secretary for further information. This is for the over 18s only.
